History

Jug dog has the essential features of a pug and Jack Russell Terrier. This dog is new hybrid and has gained popularity in last ten years as a designer dog. It has a round head, elongated muzzle, and curly tail. They have a small body structure and lighter physique like a pug and strong as Jack Russell Terrier. However, physical features can vary depending upon the inheritance of the characteristics of their parents.

Temperament & Personality

A good companion of people of all ages, they are very prone to develop “small dog syndrome” and can be very tenacious if not socialized properly. They retain the traits of Jack Russell and are fearless hence it is advised not to leave them outside. These dogs are very playful and family companions if trained at an early age. They are also compatible with other pets and also find them friendly. Moreover, they are not guarding dogs as they are not aggressive.

Exercise

A moderate amount of energy needs to burn daily and it will be less if the breed retains more the Pug characteristics. Therefore, it is advised not to exercise more in high-temperature. Just a simple walk will be adequate to keep them healthy and happy.

Grooming

Jug Puppies do not require bathing every day. Their coat can be maintained merely by brushing twice a week with slicker or deshedder brushes. Though, regular brushing helps the coat to become shiny and supple. Although, the breed which inherited the rough coat from parents will require more brushing.  This dog is also prone to dental disease, hence it is recommended to make a dental visit at regular intervals.

Health Problems

Common concerns are Patellar Luxation Canine, Hip Dysplasia, Pug Dog Encephalitis, Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca. Other health problems include Entropion, Ectropion, Demodectic Mange, Brachycephalic Syndrome, Sick Sinus Syndrome, Ataxia, Legg- Calve Perthes Disease, Atopy Dermatitis. Occasional tests include Eye Examination, Skin Evaluation, Radiographs and Neurological Testing.

Training

Jug Dogs are intelligent which reduces the trainer's job as they learn things very quickly.  However, the trainer has to be very patient as the dog will not catch up things automatically.

Feeding

The activity level of this dog is not highly active hence it consumes the very minimum amount of protein every day. 0.8 cups of protein are adequate for this breed.

Hi I have a Puggle cross breed, she has a very cute face and shes a light tan color we called her Ginger because my son said she reminds him of ginger ! Shes a rescue puppy and son found her! Anyway shes older adult now and she has started to pee on the carpets , and I have tried everything, nothing has worked! Shes still doing it! And she also will take the dry food out of the dish put it on the floor and she leaves it there she will not pick it up or eat it, and one other thing is she knows shes not allowed on the furniture but she goes on it ! And the barking at any noise and at anyone walking down the street,anWe sold d other dogs !! Now we moved last July! We sold our house and moved to a new house and first day in the new house she peed! And shes been doing it since! I dont know if it has anything to do it us moving and or because my younger son moved out too his own place! So hes not living with us anymore! And she doesnt see him too much, she used to
