Yorkalier is an excellent family companion with affectionate and patient demeanor. They become a kind playmate for children and also gets well with other pets. Charles Yorkie is an attention seeker. Their protective attitude towards family reflects their inherent loyalty. They also act as a watchdog and instantly signals their masters if any intruder is spotted. Cold climatic conditions are not comfortable for this breed.Yorkie lifespand is about ten to twelve years.
King Charles Yorkie is not a sporty dog and will require few activity sessions regularly. Simple walks, playing in a yard will be adequate. A simple exercise will make them physically and mentally healthy.
Yorkie Charles requires moderate grooming due to the beautiful and silky nature of its coat. Brushing weekly with Pin brush or comb will help the coat to stay tangle free and shiny. Bathing once a month will serve the purpose of hygiene. Ears need a checkup every week to avoid infection. Nails can be clipped when they overgrow and click on the floor.

Charles Yorkie loose interest quickly. Therefore, training sessions should be interesting. Teaching them to stand still while examined by the veteran, and treat with a cuddle or a snack treat can make the training session exciting.
To avoid ‘small dog syndrome,’ socialize them on a regular basis. Yorkie is an intelligent breed having a zestful nature facilitating it to be part of various games and do exciting tricks.
