History

The Pushon is the cross between the Bichon Frise and the Pug which combines the best characteristics of the Pug and the soft fluffiness of a Bichon Frise. These cuties have a well-proportioned body with tiny round paws making them fast movers. Their round black eyes shine with anticipation and triangular shaped ears flop over when being held out. The tail can be straight or curled up.

Temperament & Personality

They are an ideal house dog with traits like affection, love, and loyalty towards the owner and his family. The Puchon is a real attention seeker, so much so that sometimes it can amuse the owner with its clownish acts to get his attention.

These fluffy creatures can vocalize loudly if an intruder enters the house. Like most of their close relatives, these dogs can also become bossy, impish and be demanding at times. Pushons bond well with other animals especially with the cats and even rabbits.

Exercise

The Pushon is an active breed which needs regular play sessions or long walks in the park. It may seem quite amusing, that these dogs love to play with soft dogs and often destroy them in the process. They make a great playmate for small children in the house. This Bichon Pug mix is exceptionally courageous breed and can even get into a fight with a larger dog.

Grooming

Some Pushon inherit the short coat while some get a long fluffy coat, so grooming mainly depends on the coat type. The short coat types require weekly brushing while the long coat types need regular brushing to keep them matt-free.

They enjoy bathing in warm water with a Vet approved shampoo. The owner should check the eyes once in a week to prevent the dog from getting an eye infection. Praising the dog while grooming them will make the overall grooming process much more manageable.

Health Problems

Some minor concerns which can affect the dog are Corneal ulcers, Flea energy, Ear infections, and Dry eyes. Occasional tests recommended are neurological testing, Ophthalmological examinations, Skin scrapping tests for allergies, will prevent the dog from various diseases.

Training

These adorable creatures need a firm hand when it comes to dealing with the little dog syndrome which is common in small breeds.

Feeding

A diet rich in high-quality kibbles will keep the dog in good health.
