History

The Weimardoodle dog is a cross between the Weimaraner and the Poodle breeds. Experts say that producing a backcross is also possible by crossing the Poodle or the Weimaraner with a Weimardoodle. The Weimardoodle dogs vary in size, which depends upon their Poodle parent’s size. This beforementioned fact means that a small Poodle will only produce a small Weimardoodle, and vice-versa will happen if the Poodle parent is in standard size.

Temperament & Personality

The owner will understand the emotional words of the Weimardoodle dog, as it will as always flaunt its demeanour. Whoodles are playful and fun-loving, especially with small children. When it passes by a stranger, it will surely bark and alert its master. They will be good with other canines and animals, if raised with them, in early puppyhood. Also, the quickly become wary of strangers, but once they felt safe and secured, they will dispose of their friendly side to them.

Care

Exercise

The owner and his family need to spend some time with this dog to boost its energy level. Some dogs will do fine with a small walk in the dog park during the morning or in the evening time, while others need a vigorous exercise regimen. Without enough exercise, these dogs put on weight. Another consequence of deprivation of activity is that the dog can channelize its energy on barking, growling, or chew soft items.

Grooming

Whenever they are inside the house, the owner should remove dead hair and dirt, by brushing them once in a week with Vet approved grooming tools. Other grooming needs are brushing their teeth, cleaning the ear, and clipping off the nails. The owner can take the help of a professional to trim off the excess hair from its body.

Health Problems

The Silky Tzu can suffer from health issues such as Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, Brachycephalic Syndrome, Spongiform Leukodystrophy, Intervertebral Disc Diseases, Otitis Externa, Patellar Luxation, Urothiliasis, Tracheal Collapse, and Eye problems. Occasional tests such as X-rays, MRI, CT Scan, Full physical examination, Joint health tests, and Blood and Urine protein screens will prevent various kind of health problems.

Training

The owner should start with commanding the dog with commands like sit, halt, come back, and leave it. The owner can strengthen the human-dog relationship by sharing a play session with the dog every day. Leash and socialization training is also an essential part of the dog’s training process. Any training, if complemented with food rewards and frequent praises will accelerate the overall training process.

Feeding

A prior consultation with a Vet will give the all-around dog nourishment and will maintain its health.
