History
The Beagle Bull also called the Beagle Pitbull mix is a crossbreed between Beagle and American Pitbull Terrier. They are not a standard mix and are commercially hard to find for selling purposes. Beagle bulldogs fall in the category of hound dogs and terrier breeds. They acquire the talents of companion dogs, watchdogs, guarding, and even hunting dogs. The beagle bulls are not purebred dogs and are a relatively a new breed, hence much of history and information about them is not available. However, Beagle bulls are believed to be developed only in the last two decades recognized by America as an official part of designer dog breeds.
Temperament and Personality
The beagle mix dogs are unpredictable and uncontrollable that is highly dependent on the character they are inclined towards from the parent breeds. They are smart, friendly and socially well-behaved in general and have a protective nature towards the family. It acquire lots of energy and love to be active, which is something that has to be taken care of. They are very much affectionate and playful creatures with a lot of endurance and steadiness too.
At times, they also turn out to be stubborn and naughty. Beagle bulls love to spend quality time with family members and the owner throughout the day. Isolation may turn it into a harmful dog. You must be careful of their scent trail characteristic inherited from its terrier background, as they are likely to chase and runoff following the scent, so it is better not to unleash.
Exercise
Beagle bulldogs are breeds that need a lot of exercise and stimulation. A long walk for one or two times is highly required for them on a daily basis in addition to some amount of playtime. If your house has access to a fenced yard, it is the best place for a beagle bulldog. Make sure to burn off the energies as they are highly active or else they may become aggressive, destructive and boisterous. Frisbee, tug of war, and fetching games are perfect. You can even take them to a dog park. Whatsoever, you need to make them exercise for at least an hour to an hour and a half on a regular basis.
Grooming
Beagle bulldogs suffer from moderate shedding, so they have moderate grooming needs. Brushing once in a week is needed for the coat to keep it healthy. But sometimes, they may shed more and in that case, regular brushing needs to be done. They will also need bathing occasionally at least every month, or they might develop the bad smell. Be careful to use a dog shampoo or else the natural oils might be damaged. Clip their nails quite often and clean their ears with a dampened cloth. Also, medicated wipes are needed on a weekly basis along with brushing their teeth two to three times a week.
Health problems
Since the Beagle bulldog is a designer breed and there is limited information about any particular health concern troubling the breed. Pitbull mix puppies do not tend to suffer from long-term ailments but can inherit health concerns from their parent breeds i.e. the Beagle and the American Pitbull Terrier dogs. Some common issues include hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, problems of the heart, eye infections, dental issues such as tartar build-up and plaque, hypothyroidism and even Parvovirus infections.
You need to get your dog vaccinated within 39 days after birth, so make sure your breeder does that to avoid much of these issues. Also, they require vaccination twice a month up to the age of 4 months. After they are eight months old, they should be vaccinated again for maintenance of better health.
Training
Beagle bulldogs are somewhat intelligent, but there can be a little difficulty in training them. Their stubborn and willful nature makes the training a little harder compared to other dogs. You must be established, firm and gentle to handle them. The key to training them well is consistency. You may treat them with tasty foods for motivating and rewarding them to make the training sessions interesting. You should also begin socialization as early as possible right from the day you bring them home. This will enable them to deal properly with children, other pets and dogs and changing situations.
Feeding
The schedule of feeding and the size of servings are the two main aspects of feeding a beagle Bulldog. However, the feeding schedule may vary depending on the dog’s age. Puppies, unlike older ones, need to consume more amount of calories for their growth and healthy being. You can also offer raw foods like diced potatoes and carrot shavings. Incorporate these into their diets along with good quality dog food. Commercially well branded dry dog foods are the best additions to their diets. About one and a half cups to two cups of dry and high-quality dog food a day split into two meals is sufficient to take care of their daily needs.
