History

The Beaski is a crossed between the purebreds Siberian Husky and the Beagle. It originated in the year 1990. Their account of the origin and who bred them is still not known.

Temperament and Personality

The Beaski is an easy-going dog with the nature of being very friendly and lovable which is inherited by both its parents. They are highly energized and have an independent streak of mind of their own. They are non-aggressive and are filled with energy to play or run.

Exercise

It is essential to utilize the energy of the dog properly to avoid behavior disruption. They need regular running, jumping or swimming sessions to release out their power. Allow them to play in an open area.

Grooming

The grooming depends on the type of fur it has, for example, if it has the coat of husky, they will shed a lot. Hence, they require brushing almost every alternate day to prevent mat formation. If it has the layer of the Beagle, it needs brushing once or twice a week. Bathe them when necessary, check their ears weekly and clean their teeth several times a week to avoid any infection.

Health Problems

The dog does not have any health issues of its own but may have some potential health concerns like distichiasis, PRA (progressive retinal atrophy), glaucoma, corneal opacities, hip dysplasia, and intervertebral disc disease.

Training

As the pet is full of energy, it has the tendency of escaping which should be prevented on time. Praise and reward them with treats when they do something right and train them to socialize with children and strangers.

Feeding

Serve your pet with meals on an average basis with high-quality dry food having a proper balance of nutrition, protein, and fiber. Their metabolism is similar to other types of dogs of the same size and the same amount of energy.
