History

The Bo-Dach is a crossbreed between purebred Dachshund dog and Boston terrier bred in the USA. Being one of the newest breeds, there is limited information available. They have a small stature characterized by a compact and muscular body. It has proportionate legs with respect to its body size and a pointed tail. The head is round in shape with a black nose and eyes. The striking feature that stands out is the ears which are usually droopy and appears larger than usual standing erect.

Temperament & Personality

The Bo-Dach is a lively, affectionate and active breed with the quality of being a great companion that goes well with people of all ages. They attack other dogs if they feel threatened or intrusion within their territory. It stays aware of strangers and is watchful of things going around. They are highly intelligent with a playful spirit and like to snuggle together on a couch.

Exercise

The breed is energetic, so they require a short period of exercise. They love to play outside or go for a walk and are perfect for apartment life.

Grooming

The dog requires occasional brushing with a firm bristle brush and baths when necessary. Their eyes and ears are prone to infection so it needs a regular check-up and their nails should be clipped as and when required. Their teeth should be brushed twice or thrice a week to avoid mouth infection.

Health Problems

Like other designer dogs, the Bo-Dach can adapt its parent’s health problems like cherry eye, PRA, epilepsy, joint problems, deafness, reverse sneezing and allergies.

Training

The dog is a quick learner, so they require short training sessions. A firm, consistent and positive trainer can teach it to be well-behaved and socialize.

Feeding

The Bo-Dach requires ¾ -1.5 cups of dry kibble on a regular basis and also dry and wet food with proper nutrition and protein.
