History
The Bulloxer is a hybrid dog bred between the Boxer and the American Bulldog that originated in the USA. Little is known about their history, but they are robust, broad and muscular and are compatible with apartment life.
Temperament and Personality
The dogs are known for their loving nature and devotion to the owners and the family members. They can get aggressive if separated from family for an extended period. The Boxer side makes them play around and be in motion more often while the Bulldog side makes them more tolerant and jovial. They go well with children and other pets but can attack adult dogs.
Exercise
Being a highly active dog, they require regular exercises to keep their muscles toned and maintain optimal weight. Take them for long walks, jogging, and hiking and play games. However, it is difficult for them to focus on games.
Grooming
Both the parents of the dog are minimal shedders, so it also inherits the same quality and requires weekly brushing to keep its hair under control. Bathing is not necessary but trimming of nails on a monthly basis and daily brushing can keep them away from health issues.
Health Problems
It is generally healthy breed, so it does not acquire any such health problems. However being a crossbreed, they can have hip dysplasia, bloating, heart conditions, cancer, epilepsy, hypothyroidism, and intestinal issues.
Training
The Bulloxer’s are good listeners and learners so they should be trained with the technique of click-treat-click-treat pattern so that he can understand the noise and react to it. Reward them when necessary and make them follow a proper routine for eating and other activities.
Feeding
An adult dog requires 3-4 cups of good quality dry food split into two or three meals per day.
