History

Frenchton is a boston terrier french bulldog mix, it is a designer dog. It is seen that in the attributes of the French Bulldog is dominant in this breed. The intentions behind developing these dogs were to get rid of the health complications of the French Bulldog and to increase their stamina and mass.

Temperament & Personality

Frenchton puppies inherit all the good qualities of their parents, be it their character, intelligence, or their obedience. Their warm and friendly nature makes them an excellent choice for a pet. It loves to grab the attention of the family members and spend time with them. This dog also mingles well with children but requires supervision when exposed to little kids. Even though there is no attitude problem in them, the Frenchtons might show a little aggression towards other dogs.

Exercise

The playful and carefree mindset of these dogs makes them suitable for apartment life. Jogging and some play sessions every day will maintain their health. If there are is no access to a fenced yard or a dog park, keep them stimulated with indoor games. Keep them inside during extreme temperatures because unlike their parents, the Frenchton cannot adjust well to them.

Grooming

Brush their short hair at least two times every week to keep the coat in the best condition. Give them a bath only when they are dirty, to protect the natural oils of the skin. Wipe and clean the ears and eyes every week to prevent infections.

Health Problems

This is a relatively healthy breed; the only concerns are eye problems, respiratory diseases, and digestive ailments.

Training

A consistent and firm trainer is imperative for the proper training of the Frenchton. The challenge lies in curbing their stubborn behavior. Teach it to shake hands using its paws. Obedience and socialization skills should be taught during puppyhood to help it blend with others. Refrain from using any negative methods, like scolding, as this grows destructive behavior in them.
