Jack a Poo is the combination of Jack Russell Terrier (supercharged energetic) with miniature Poodle (fun-loving & low shedding. The breed first appeared twenty years ago and has become a popular designer dog in the UK.

Temperament & Personality

Jack a Poo makes a ideal family pet as its lively and affectionate. The dog often borrows the characteristics of a terrier which can be seen during training sessions. Socialization from a young age will help to check the terrier tacts in it and ensure that it quickly goes along with other children and animals. These dogs like to have a company and if left alone, it results in boredom and ends up barking.

Exercise

Terrier feature of Jack a Poo reflects an energetic pooch and requires daily exercise for mental stimulation. An active lifestyle is a must as the dog has the may become overweight resulting in joint issues.

Grooming

The breed does not require hard grooming. Brushing twice a week will be enough, but it might need clipping by the professional groomers. Bathing too often can lead to dry skin and therefore it is recommended to bathe them only when needed. Brushing teeth twice or thrice a week is advisable.

Health Problems

Not known to suffer from any specific health issues, but it can inherit few problems from its parent breed. Patellar Luxation, Addison’s Disease, Von Willebrand’s, and other illnesses are most common diseases inherited by this breed.

Training

Although a pleasing personality, the terrier attitude transforms into stubborn behavior meaning patience and steady approach is required during training. Socializing early is essential to make sure that the dog is kind to others. Rewards based training with high praise provides best results.

Feeding

Jack a Poo is a medium-sized dog and should be fed a quality kibble to reflect his size and activity. 2-3 feedings without any fillers like carbs or grains are sufficient.
