Jackaranian is the crossbreed between the Jack Russell Terrier with Pomeranian. It has high energy levels inherited from Jack Russell Terrier and can take part in various activities like rescue, search, hunting. Pom cross puppies are energetic amiable and happy in any social situation.
Temperament & Personality
Jackaranian puppies and adults both enjoy spending time with family members and hate to spend long hours outdoors. These dogs get hostile towards other animals and strangers. Usually, calm with children, they do not like being handled roughly and gets jealous if they don't get the required attention. Pom Jack puppies are intelligent, active and love to play all day.
As puppies, they are active and require good exercise routine every day. When growing up they develop into physically small dogs with high energy levels. Long walks, playtime and visiting parks can be a way to reduce dog’s boredom. Positive exercise routines will help them remain mentally and physically stimulated.
Considered a moderate shedder, jack russell pomeranian mix puppies require brushing twice a week. It helps to keep their coat clean and dirt free. Occasional bathing and regular dental checkups is advised, as the dog is prone to dental diseases which can also result in tooth loss. Regular cleaning and checkups can do minimization of ear infections.
Some major health concerns are Patellar, Luxation, Deafness, Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, Collapsed Trachea. Occasional tests include Eye examinations, Dental examinations, Ultrasonography, and X-rays of various parts of the skeletal system along with various blood tests.
Jack-A-Ranian puppies are easy to train as they are smart and usually eager to please. Stubborn Jack Pom puppies get distracted easily. Hence, interesting training sessions that are short keeps them interested. Barking is one negativity in this dog which can be commanded by training. It is recommended to give these puppies early practice due to its aggressiveness.
