History
Another name of Kashon is Bichon FriseCairn Terrier Mix, the name itself denotes that it is a cross between Cairn Terrier and Bichon Frise. It has inherited dark round eyes and a muzzle from Bichon Frise while medium-sized pointed ears from Cairn type. It is a small and sturdy dog with the keen and cheerful tendency.
Temperament & Personality
Kashon puppies are family oriented with their gentle and loving behavior. They stay happy around the family and suffer from anxiety when left alone for a long period of time. It quickly mixes with new people and other pets. Also, their protective instinct gets alert when they are suspicious of anything. Kashon dogs are best with babies and can tolerate the noise related to kids. With its Terrier DNA, it presents a little independence and single-mindedness, they also hate being harshly handled and are very sensitive.
Exercise
Kashon dogs are low energy dogs and hence do not need hours of physical activity. 30 minutes of hard activity per day will be enough to keep these puppies healthy and fit. It can be divided into 3 to 4 sessions to maintain the stability of the shedding energy. Small walks or playing different games can also be a part of the exercise which will help the puppy stay strong.
Grooming
Bichon FriseCairn Terrier Mix has two coats which means it requires regular brushing. Brushes necessary for Kashonshon are Dematter, Pin brush comb, and scissors. Before bathing all the tangles on the coat should be cleared, it can be a reason for skin reactions. Ear cleaning should be done every week to avoid ear infections and nails should be clipped when they overgrow.
Health Problems
Primary concerns of this dog include Cataracts, Atopic Dermatitis, Mitral Valve Disease, Craniomandibular Osteopathy. Occasional Diagnoses include Patellar Luxation, Epilepsy, Urolithiasis, Portosystemic Shunts.
Occasional Tests include Eye Examination, Electrocardiogram, Radiographs, Blood Analysis, Neurological Testing.
Training
This breed requires strict discipline as it is a self-sufficient dog. It can expertise the commands and tricks, depending on the willingness of the puppy to learn.
Feeding
Kashon puppies do not require very high nutrient diet, half cup of dry dog food will be adequate.
