History

The Kugsha Dog is a wolf hybrid and is also known as wolf-dog. It was originated in Pennsylvania’s Wolfen Kennel Club present in the US. During 5the earlier times, they were used to pull freights and other weights. This breed was named as the American Husky, but this name did not go well, so it was changed the Kugsha. It got its name from three wolf hybrid breeders- Kulwind (Ku), Gorden Smith (GS) and Habben (Ha).

Temperament and Personality

The breed creates a strong bond with the members of the family and does not prefer staying alone for a long period. Their preying instinct does not allow them to be left alone with small children if proper training is not given. However, they are good with other family pets, including other breed dogs. Since they are northern breed, it has a primitive nature, so they require training from their puppyhood. They make an excellent watchdog but are not compatible with apartment life until and unless it has a yard attached to it.

Exercise

Since it is a highly active and energetic dog, it has a lot of activity requirements. Take them for long walks and jogging every day to keep them fit mentally and physically. Give them enough of play time without a leash in a fenced area.

Grooming

The dense coat of the dog requires brushing 2 to 3 times a week to keep its fur healthy and clean. Bathe them only when necessary to avoid loss of natural oils. Trim its nails monthly and clean its teeth frequently for infection. Also, check and wipe clean its ears to prevent ear problems.

Health Problems

It is a healthy breed with no health issues but can be prone to big dog problems. They are hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and arthritis. Visit a vet for regular check-ups.

Training

The primary teaching of the Kugsha is socialization as they can be quite aggressive when they watch any stranger. Do not use harsh and rough tone to train, instead use positive techniques like reward basis training. Take them to dog parks to interact w9ith new people and other dogs, and this will help it growing even-tempered. Teach them to obey commands and be well-mannered. They are also prone to develop destructive behavior quickly, so encourage it to be distracted by playing games or other stuff. Keep them busy otherwise, they might run after small animals.

Feeding

Serve the pet with 3 to 5 cups of high-quality dry dog food split into at least two meals every day. Also include eggs, raw meat, salmon and tuna in their diet.
