LAB PEI

History

Lab Pei is a new designer dog breed that emerged during the 21st century. It is  Labrador retriever and the Chinese Shar-Pie mix. They have cute, sweet face with wrinkles and go well with children and other pets making them a fantastic addition to the family.

They give a warning bark to strangers rather than pouncing on them, which reflects their harmonious nature. Both its parent breeds make them an intelligent and loving dog that is easy to train.

Temperament & Personality

Lab Pie inherits protective and loving character from its parents. However, this breed also has a coarse side. If the dog acquires complete features of the Chinese Shar-Pie, it can be independent, dominant, alert, lordly and brave at times.

Lab Pie protects its family like parents and is kind, loving, smart and emotional. The Shar Pie Lab mix goes well with children and other pets after undergoing positive training. They seek attention and loves to be involved in family activities. They are also keen to please their owner. Lab dogs easily adapt to family life making them the best apartment dog.

Grooming

The dog requires low maintenance and do not need excessive grooming. It is a high drooler, so cleaning them time to time is mandatory. Brushing them on a monthly basis will help to remove loose fur and debris from the skin.

If the dog has wrinkles and folds, the owner needs to clean them using a damp cloth on a daily basis to prevent bacteria and yeast build up. Giving bath is not mandatory unless it is incredibly filthy. Also, brushing their teeth is essential to prevent dental diseases and maintain healthy oral hygiene. Trim their nails when they overgrow, and clean their ears once a week to avoid collection of wax.
