History

It was developed from a cross between Papillon and Pomeranian and inherits features of both. Some of the dogs have typical markings the Pappilon on its forehead as well as nose. This dog loves to bark along with other dogs and they are gaining popularity because they can quickly adjust to different climatic conditions. Their health is not affected by moderate or cold climatic conditions.

Temperament & Personality

These gentle, smart and sweet dogs are attention seekers and love to spend time with its family members. They go well with other pets, children, and strangers, due to which it doesn’t qualify for an ideal watchdog as they do not alert its owner of an invader. They keep themselves busy by playing around.

Exercise

Like other designer dogs, Paperanian does not require massive outdoor activities. Moderate exercising like small walks or jogs and small playing sessions in a yard or at home will keep the dog in perfect shape. As it is little and not super active, it will do well in an apartment or a home with or without a yard.

Grooming

The dog requires moderate grooming, where brushing them twice or thrice a week will be enough to maintain their coat. The coat needs washing every two to three weeks to keep its shine and hygiene. A veterinarian prescribed shampoo specially made for hypoallergenic canines is advised. Ears and toenails should be focused weekly, while teeth will require daily brushing to avoid bad breath and periodontal disease.

It is known to be a healthy breed but can inherit few health problems from its parents.

Training

Training these dogs is easy, but master requires patience and firmness. Repetitive training methods will make the dog learn commands and tricks faster. Positive training methods like praises, treats and rewards will make the education process much more comfortable. The dog can be trained by a professional trainer or at its own house to restrict unwanted behavior.

Feeding

Paperanian puppies will require food which is rich in protein, fatty acids, and vitamins. Commercial or dry dog food half to one cup will provide necessary nutrition.
