House training should be started early, and patience and consistency are crucial. Crate training can also be helpful in this process.

Obedience training is also important for a Shih Poo. Basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel should be taught to help with behavior and control. This can also help to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Socialization is also an important aspect of training for a Shih Poo. They should be exposed to different people, animals, and environments from an early age to help them become well-adjusted and confident adult dogs.

Feeding

Its eating habits and calorie intake require supervision as it is an overeater. Raw meat diet or 1 cup of commercial dry dog food will be sufficient for the dog. Kibble is good for this breed, as they develop teeth issues and can suffer from tooth decay. Kibble will prevent bad breath and gum infections.

A diet that includes lean protein sources such as chicken, fish, or turkey, and complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes are recommended. You should also consider high-quality dog food that is formulated for small breeds.

It's important to also monitor their weight as Shih Poo has a tendency to become overweight. You should feed them the appropriate amount of food for their size and level of activity, and avoid giving them table scraps or too many treats.

It is also important to provide fresh water at all times and monitor their food and water intake to ensure they are getting the proper nutrition. Consult with your veterinarian for the specific nutritional needs of your Shih Poo.
