Large dog breeds, in terms of size and proportions, come in between the giant breeds and medium-to-small canine breeds. Afghan hound, Akita Shepherd, Airedale Terrier, Doberman pinscher, Greyhound, and English Pointer are good examples of large breeds of dogs. Contrary to popular belief large dogs are not as threatening or scary as they look but tend to be calm, friendly, and adorable.
