Temperament & Personality
These cuties are extremely gentle, playful, sweet and most importantly silly. They show a higher level of loyalty and devotion towards their owner and the entire family. This dog mixes well with other dogs and animals. They are also an excellent playmate for small kids and a great friend to the senior citizens.
Experts say that these dogs have a high aggression level, but the reality is that these dogs are low on aggression. They need constant company and might show destructive behaviors if left alone for a long period.
Exercise
Exercising on a regular interval will boost their overall health and well being. Miniature Sheepadoodle will do fine in any environment, provided they get an ample place to play and run. Regular exercise also prevents some major health issues like Cancer, Heart disease, Strokes, and Arthritis.
Grooming
The Sheepadoodles need regular brushing to keep their coat clean and matt-free. Trimming is extremely necessary, especially in their eye areas. The owner should consult a proper professional groomer to get information about the dog’s adequate grooming process.
Health Problems
Sheepadoodles can suffer from health issues like Hip dysplasia, Eye diseases, Hypothyroidism, Joint problems and Progressive retinal atrophy.
Like its human counterparts, the Sheepadoodles also need vaccination as it is one of the best ways to keep the dog healthy and disease free. Sheepadoodle puppies are vaccinated in their eight to ten weeks, and younger ones need a booster in the twelveth month after their first vaccination.
Training
Early socialization training and positive reinforcement techniques will instill proper behavior and obedience towards the owner in the future. A punishment based training is not recommended as it will only damage the entire training efforts. Praises and food rewards will accelerate the training process.
Feeding
These dogs need a high-quality dry kibble food on a daily basis. As they are highly prone to obesity, divide the entire meal into two to three servings throughout the entire day.
